The Power of Accuracy
Our models boast an astonishing accuracy rate of over 85% in predicting whether a seemingly healthy patient will succumb to dementia in the future. More impressively, they achieve an F1 score of around 0.8, even when working with imbalanced datasets. In a case study, our models identified 15 true positives, 6 false negatives, 84 true negatives, and 0 false positives out of 105 scans initially labeled as healthy. This high accuracy arises from detecting individuals in the preclinical stage, a task that often eludes conventional diagnosis due to the subtlety of early-stage brain changes caused by the disease.
